Chronic Pain

Fearless Friday -Pain has a way of debilitating a person. Your days miserable. Your nights sleepless. Constant agony brings a forced smile. You want to hide reality but authenticity calls you. The last thing you want to be is a downer but really what is there to be up about. People don’t want to be around you because everybody wants happy. Yet happy is a memory. This is my question- how do you help someone who is in chronic pain?

1. Don’t not see them just because you don’t like their negative attitude. 2. Don’t not call them just because you don’t know what to say. Don’t condemn what you aren’t experiencing.

Listen. Just learn how to love by reaching out…one day at a time…one call at a time and one visit at a time.

Until soon/d

On a Rock

Fearless Friday -I just want to remind everyone that Jesus did endure and suffer and experience pain. However, it was the journey THROUGH the pain that’s important.  He did not remain in pain or suffering. Sometimes, we remain in a pit of pain from mere desire. We want the attention that comes through being discouraged. If we remain in that place with the wrong motives (to get attention), we will become entrapped and find it very difficult to get out of that hole. So, change your mind if that is you….and wait upon Him by wrapping yourself up in His Truth and His Love and watch Him deliver you and put you on a rock!

Ps 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.  He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD. (New International Version)

Until soon and much love, d

All In One Day

Tenacious Tuesday – Pain. Sorrow. Joy. Confusion. Happiness. Disturbed. Perplexities. Passion. Depression. Peace. Betrayal. Rejection. Hilarity. Giddiness. Anger. All in one day.

Yet, all these emotions are deep and real because of a loving and powerful Creator Who made us all in His image. Have you grasped the fact that our God is our Father and HE is emotional?  And yet, praise His name, He keeps His emotions under control!  Otherwise, maybe we would all be wiped off the earth! Interestingly enough, He desires for us to keep our emotions under control as well. Made from His DNA, we have the unique likelihood of experiencing His emotions. The feelings of God. Wow. How humbling is that? How can we be made in His image? Sometimes God calls us into a journey or pathway of discovery where we experience emotions and feelings we never knew possible. HE is so good that HE will use those experiences and pain to shape us and encourage us and strengthen us until we look just like Him.  Sometimes, we have pain in front of us but we want to avoid it at all costs yet…I remember a GodMan Who took a way through pain too just so we could know Him and His Father. Let’s trust Him my friend as we press forward into more…of Him and living life with Him…conversing with HIM every step of the way…even if it means we feel all these conflicting feelings…all in one day.

Until soon and much love,

Come Out Come Out WHEREVER You Are!

Have you ever hidden yourself away so that you could not be condemned or found out? I wrote the following poem many years ago. It reflected a time in my life when I was afraid for anyone to know the real me for fear they would reject me. The truth is that some really do reject you when you show who you really are yet even in rejection – you can be safely hidden in Christ. So, I say it is time to come out come out wherever you are!

My Kaleidoscope of Fear

If I told you I was shattered and wanted most to fall apart,

If I told you I was broken and ever hurting in my heart,

If you felt the scars imbedded oh so deeply in my skin,

If you felt the depth of pain and saw the ugliness within,

If you had me on a pedestal to find I’m nothing like you knew,

If you thought the world of me yet found me sadly hurting too,

If you saw the tears that demonstrate a weary broken heart,

If you saw the lies that strangely hold me –

the ones that make me fall apart,

If you knew the kind of effort made to make it through the day,

If you knew the reason for my hardness – I wonder what you’d say.

Sometimes I long to tell you of my inward fear and pain.

But I think, “Oh no, you can’t see that part of me

for then you’d view me with disdain.”

Disdain for my weak mind and for the times I feel defeat,

Disdain for lack of order – the truth behind retreat.

Would you see through my hurt and taste my hunger for you there?

Would you walk with me in the garden though I’m naked and I’m bare?

Would you love me?

Or

Would you leave me?

I want to encourage you today to #BEBRAVER and do not give up but follow through on coming out of your hiding place. Whether I was outright rejected OR I thought I had been rejected – even rejection does not define me and it does not define you. So, though your perception may have been your reality all these years….how about you remember Who you belong to! Be encouraged because the love of God will preserve you when man is disappointed in you and even when YOU are disappointed in you.

So, I say to you – come out come out wherever you are!

If you read this far you might be interested in a fiction story…kind of like a soap opera really – I released the 3rd part in the Other Side of the Road and am preparing to release FROM the Other Side of the Road – you can follow me there too if you like – its just for fun!! http://donnareinersblogs.wordpress.com/
